Lance Weiler is an artist and storyteller working across film, theatre, games, and code. An alumnus of the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and a pioneer in immersive storytelling, he is known for blending narrative and technology to create provocative, participatory experiences. Under the name culturehacker, his work explores themes of memory, loss, and perception — transforming archives, artifacts, and code into living, poetic systems.
For over two decades, Lance has helped lead the entertainment industry into the digital age, developing new forms of storytelling that challenge convention and invite collective authorship. He is a Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University, where he founded the Digital Storytelling Lab — a hub for reimagining how stories are made, shared, and experienced.
